I love a good story, don¡¯t you? My favorite stories feature a great plot and interesting characters! And that¡¯s why today¡¯s story is one of my favorites and I give it two thumbs up. It¡¯s called ¡®Annabel¡¯ and as you¡¯ll soon see, it has the most interesting character in literature, me! But you¡¯ll find that out just a moment, when our storyteller begins the tape. Right now, I want you to turn to the cover of your book. You¡¯ll see Annabel, sitting in chair. What is she doing? Yes. Reading a book. Do you know what the title of her book is? Well, if you don¡¯t know, maybe after we read the story one time, you¡¯ll get a hint. We¡¯re going to begin the reading today from the cover of your book and I want you to turn the page each time you hear this sound. [Diling doong]. Follow along with the storyteller, looking at the pictures and when you come back I¡¯ll tell you the name of the book that Annabel is reading. Okay! Let¡¯s get started.

Yes, it¡¯s true girls and boys. I¡¯m Annabel¡¯s crocodile. She really does like a technique shopping and a lot of other places too. I get a big kick out of watching the faces of people when they take a real good look at me. They go crazy and I laugh and laugh. Now that we¡¯re back, and you¡¯ve been through the story once, let me ask you a question. Did you figure out the name of the book Annabel was reading? Well, in case you didn¡¯t, it¡¯s called ¡®Crocodile care¡¯. And it¡¯s all about raising and taking care of that wonderful species of animal called crocodile of which I am a member. What do you say boys and girls? Let¡¯s read the story again and this time, we¡¯ll add some music and sound effects. I want you to follow along very carefully, reading as the many of the words as possible. Because when you come back after reading the story, I¡¯ll have a special task for you. We¡¯ll begin this time from the title page. That¡¯s the page just inside the front cover. You¡¯ll see Annabel, sitting on the floor, putting on her shoes. Remember. Turn the page, every time you hear this sound. [Diling doong]. All right. From the title page, let¡¯s get started!

Great job boys and girls! I think this story, my story, is a lot of fun and you are very good readers. Hey! Did you notice our story is written in rhythm? That¡¯s right! It has a certain beat, which will make our story a lot of fun to read in rhythm. And that is just what I want you to do. We¡¯re going to read the story one more time together in time with the beat. Turn to page 2 in your book and I¡¯ll show you how we¡¯re going to do it. Okay. Is everyone on page 2? Good. Here¡¯s what well do. You¡¯ll hear the rhythm start. Then you¡¯ll follow along with our actors saying the story in rhythm right along with them. It will sound just like this. (Same as page 2)
Sounds like fun don¡¯t you think? Well, let¡¯s get started from the title page and here we go!
