Track 3, 7 - Making Muffins Interactive Game

I like that story a lot but all that talk about muffins made me kind of hungry for a muffin myself. I don't happen to have any on hand but I can close my eyes and imagine a muffin. Can you? Hey, how do you suppose they make muffins anyway?

"Making Muffins" song
Want to make muffins a special way?
Just do what I do, and say what I say.
Ready? Ready!
Scoop, scoop, in goes the flour.
Scoop, scoop, in goes the flour.
Crack, crack, in go the eggs.
Crack, crack, in go the eggs.
Sprinkle, in goes the sugar.
Sprinkle, in goes the sugar.
And a splash of milk.
And a splash of milk.
And a pinch of salt.
And a pinch of salt.
Uh-oh, we forgot to pick the berries. Better hurry outside to the berry bush.
Zip, zip, zip on your jacket.
Zip, zip, zip on your jacket.
Slip, slip, slip on your boots.
Slip, slip, slip on your boots.
Run, run out to the bush.
Run, run out to the bush.
Pick, pick, pick, pick.
Pick, pick, pick, pick.
Scoot, scoot back to the house.
Scoot, scoot back to the house.
Zip off your jacket.
Zip off your jacket.
Slip off your boots.
Slip off your boots.
Now, plip, plop, drop in the berries.
Plip, plop, drop in the berries.
Stir it up, stir it up, stir it up.
Stir it up, stir it up, stir it up.
Drip, drop, pour in the batter.
Drip, drop, pour in the batter.
Put them in the oven.
Put them in the oven.
Tick, tock, set the timer.
Tick, tock, set the timer.
And wait, and wait, and wait, and wait.
Ding ding ready.
Ding ding ready.
Whew, whew, cool them off.
Whew, whew, cool them off.
Yum, yum, eat them up.
Yum, yum, eat them up.
Ahh muffins.
Ahh muffins.

Track 4, 8 - The Story of Laura Numeroff and Felicia Bond

Boy, now that we've made those imaginary muffins what we need is some imaginary blackberry jam! One day when Laura Numeroff was writing "If You Give a Moose a Muffin", shed did some research and find out that Moose like to eat blackberries. She had never tasted blackberries herself and wondered what they were like. That same week, out of the blue she received a gift in the mail. Guess what it was - a jar of homemade blackberry jam!

Felicia Bond who did the illustrations in the book says she looked at lots of pictures of moose... but to get the FEELLING of the moose, she says she tried to imagine what it would be like to be very, very tall, with knobby knees and bony elbows and something like a hatrack on her head!

Track 5, 9 - Doin't the Moose! Song

Now, I've got q question for you. What do these three things have in common? The "Fox trot", the "Bunny Hop", and "The Monkey". If you guessed that they're all dances named after animals - you're right! We're going to do a dance now that's named after another animal. An animal with great big antlers and shaggy brown fur. Get ready 'cause we're DOIN' THE MOOSE!

"Doin' The Moose" song
There's a dance we know,
It kind of starts off slow.
When you feel the rhythm,
Sway to and fro.
Now put your hands on your head, wag them just like so.
Those are your antlers, come on, let's go.
We're doin' the Moose
Doin' it, doin' it, doin' it, doin' the Moose,
Doin' it, doin' it, doin' it, doin' the Moose,
Oh yeah, we're doin' the Moose.

Can you stamp your hooves,
To these happening grooves?
I tell you this dance proves,
Who's got the moosiest moves.
Oh you may be tired,
Or huffin' and puffin',
But don't stop now to have a muffin,
Because we're doin' the Moose,
Doin' it, doin' it, doin' it, doin' the Moose,
Doin' it, doin' it, doin' it, doin' the Moose,
Oh yeah, we're doin' the Moose.

Out on the playground, and back at the school,
Everybody's dancing like a crazy fool.
Antlers in the air, hooves cuttin' loose,
Look out everybody, we're doin' the Moose

Drums kick the beat, saxophone wails,
Everybody's shakin' those moose tails.
Fur begins to fly, turning on the juice,
Look out world, we're doin' the Moose.
Doin' the Moose, doin' it, doin' it, doin' it, doin' the Moose
Doin' it, doin' it, doin' it, doin' the Moose,
Oh yeah, we're doin' the Moose
